my fear's of circa survive's new album 'blue sky noise' (the name sucks) being a complete and utter let down/disappointment, just taking them into mainstream obscurity. had been going on for awhile i actually got myself unexcited for it, especially after portugal released another awesome record. however i was thankfully completely wrong.. for the most part. i think this record will actually bring them even further into the mainstream then they already have become and the shows they start playing are going to be much bigger headlining tours and 'spectacles'. but it certainly isn't a let down, i got the download at midnight atlantic sucks and it didn't actually work till 2 but whatever it was worth the wait. a couple stand outs but no actual favorite tracks yet, i don't want to be hasty. i just suggest listening to it for the first time not just on your way to class with ur ipod or in you're car, but sitting down and enjoying it through some good speakers or headphones. couple things though, one is that anthony i think once again raised the bar for vocalists and frontmen everywhere, he did it on juturna and now again here. his lyric writing has really changed too, for the most part it's no longer obscure imagery based poems. also circa have become experts at writing the opening and closing of a record, after doing it on all 3 releases it's definitely their forte, they always open and close perfectly and definitively leaving you wanting that little bit more but at the same time being satisfied and knowing that it's over, so then you just go and put the whole thing on repeat. sorta like heroin. spend the $10 it's worth it, nowison.
